Job Description:
The role of an Area Sales Manager is mid-level position, and the person will be responsible for driving & managing the sales, distribution & network management activities in a particular area. This role involves hands-on involvement in driving sales growth, relationship management to build & sustain distributor network & ability garner competitive information from the market.
Job location: Mozambique
Key Deliverables:
- Sales & Distribution: Drive the sales & distribution agenda / volumes in the assigned territory to work towards strengthening our share in the market. Also responsible for the timely payment collection from client's basis agreed credit terms.
- Market Development: Assess market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify untapped opportunities and potential threats. Discuss & Develop market entry strategies for new product launches or expansion into new territories.
- New Customer Acquisition: Identify potential customers and explore opportunities to expand the customer base in the region. Develop and maintain a network of contacts to generate new business leads. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify unique selling propositions for attracting new customers.
- Market Analysis: The Area Manager needs to keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. This data to be shared ahead to assist in planning & adaption of sales strategy which ensure company remains competitive.
- Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with all customers is vital. The Area Manager is the face of the organization in front of the customer.
- Reporting and Analysis: The Area Sales Manager prepares regular reports and analysis to provide insights into sales performance, market share & competitor pricing.
- Communication & Compliance: Effective communication is essential, as they need to coordinate with various departments, including finance, logistics, operations to ensure a cohesive and customer-focused approach. Ensuring that all relevant laws, regulations, as well as company policies are followed.
- Adaptation to Change: The sales landscape can change rapidly, so the Area Sales Manager needs to be adaptable and open to new technologies, strategies, and best practices to stay competitive.
Requirements:
- Has a strong sales background to be able to drive the sales & distribution agenda in the assigned territory.
- The incumbent should have proven experience as a "self-starter" with a strong element of dynamism and the ability to move fast and get things done. He should have the stature and the maturity that commands the respect of his peers.
- Have an ownership mindset! And desire to run the show Independently.
- Have good people management, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
