In this role you will be working on the leading edge of our Open Source Software (OSS) program and will gain invaluable experience with library design and development, as well as interacting with a community of engaged developers who use your work on a daily basis. This role provides the opportunity to implement clean, well-tested code, adhering to our high standards for quality and maintainability. You will also have the ability to help guide the direction of this team by building technical designs and working with product management to build the roadmap.
is an extensible identity platform and our APIs allow developers at companies of all sizes to integrate into their own applications. The Developer Community Products team is responsible for empowering developers by identifying common use cases and creating tools and SDKs that simplify integrations, while helping them understand our product and the protocols that we support.
We are a polyglot team and while we are looking to scale our Golang and Java engineering, we also value a generalist mindset and co-learning across stacks. We work closely as a team to design solutions that work across languages and environments.

What youll be doing
Build Technical Designs for the DCP Team
Participate in product development and roadmap exercises
Interact with our customers through GitHub, responding to issues and reviewing pull requests
Participate in software design and code review for all libraries that the team creates
Implement holistic testing strategies to assert were delivering a good developer experience, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Write documentation and how-to content for the libraries that you create
What you bring to the team
8+ years working as an application developer (youve written and deployed production code, and can empathize with the development process.)
Intermediate knowledge of the OpenAPI Spec v3 and/or Swagger
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience with API design and development.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Java and Go programming languages.
Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
Experience working with a product-oriented, agile culture
Active involvement with CI/CD concerns, hands-on experience with tools such as CircleCI, Travis, and Jenkins
Bonus Skills:
Experience with other languages, such as Java, .NET, Node, or Python
Experience interacting with other developers on GitHub (e.g. opening issues, contributing to issues, filing pull requests)
Experience building libraries or tools that are depended on by other developers, internal or external
