Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance :

• Perform / Supervise preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of all plant, HT & Breaker, Star/ Delta , Power generation, Solar turbine compressor, VFD , Soft starter, Megger, IR value, Fire & Gas system HVAC,
• Attend running complaints and monitor the performance of plant equipment,
• Troubleshoot and assist in reliability improvement, Carry out shut down / maintenance activities,
• Escalate where required IN ORDER TO attain Equipment availability and to avoid unplanned shutdown of plant equipment.
• Participation in KAIZEN, SGA and 5S activities.
• Report abnormalities by regular LLF ,CLTI practices

Loss Control Management

• Electrical Maintenance Support in conducting risk analysis of operations and facilities, Implement changes to mitigate risk exposures, Participate in RCFA , FEMA, HAZOP / HAZID study, Follow up and implement audit recommendations IN ORDER TO adhere to QHSE standards and maintain Zero LTI

Offshore/Onshore Maintenance

• Implement condition ,preventive/predictive and risk based maintenance, Support PMS on the Offshore platforms and onshore IN ORDER TO support production operations

Procurement

• Able to identify the critical spares and their availability by timely creation of Material cataloguing requests, OEM approvals and Purchase Requisitions. Spare management related to electrical systems: Prepare 30-60-90 days and annual need-basis material/service requirement, Co-ordinate with purchase department in obtaining spares/services, Inspect incoming spares, Assist in finalizing min/max inventory and reorder level, Maintain assigned tools IN ORDER TO reduce down time /turnaround of electrical equipments and ensure spares/ material availability for planned activities.

Self-Development

• Identify and Enhance Knowledge, Skill and Competency IN ORDER TO ensure self is aware and abreast in understanding the developments and emerging technologies happening within the discipline/industry

QHSE

• Implement PTW and safety procedures, Conduct operations according to QHSE systems and participate in audit and close out of non-compliances IN ORDER TO develop safety culture among Staff and adherence to Cairn QHSE requirements. Ensure compliance to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, AO , 5S and VSAP standards.

CMMS

• Ability to work with SAP PM/MM (CMMS) for managing maintenance tasks and workflows. Able to digitalise the maintenance function as far as possible.

AO/Training

• Basic understanding of asset optimisation and conducting internal Training to technicians team to improve skills of Technicians.

Preferred candidate profile

• Knowledge of preparing /revising standard maintenance procedures of electrical equipments
• Knowledge of oil and gas industry QHSE standards and procedures to meet compliance requirements of DGMS and OISD .
• Knowledge of Gas turbine generating & Gas compression

Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering Graduate with 5-6 experience in maintenance and operations of Oil & Gas industry.
• Electrical DGMS and/ or electrical supervisor license issued by Gujarat state.

Basic Understanding:

Oil and gas industry processing equipment and storage equipment’s, production process operations

Competencies:

• Electrical Drawing, Logic Understanding
• Troubleshooting of Gas engine, gas compressor, Diesel engine, Solar gas turbine,
• HT/LT motor, VFD, Soft starter,
• HT/LT breaker (VCB)
• Equipment Selection
• Hazard Identification & Risk Analysis.
• Interpersonal Skills
• Communication Skills – Verbal & Written in English.
• MS-Office skills , Basic Computer Skills
• Basic Understanding of AO (Asset Optimisation).
• Conduct PTW audit & TBT (Tool Box Talk).
• Conduct training to all crew on basic electrical hazards/risks .
• Understanding of Oil and Gas Operations permit to work system.

Classification of hazardous area into zones . .

• Use of portable electrical equipment in hazardous zones
• Working Knowledge of MCC rooms , HT and LT breakers , system earth and lightning systems control room , Rotating equipment, electrical systems UPS systems , area lighting

Knowledge :

• Knowledge of preparing /revising standard maintenance procedures of electrical equipment’s
• Knowledge of oil and gas industry QHSE standards and procedures to meet compliance requirements of DGMS and OISD .
