The Opportunity

Nutanix Database Service is the only hybrid multi-cloud DBaaS for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. Efficiently manage hundreds to thousands of databases with no complex migration required. Quickly and easily provision new databases, automate important but tedious administrative tasks like patching and backups, and choose the right operating systems, database versions, and database extensions to meet application and compliance requirements.

About the Team

At Nutanix, our NDB team in Bangalore consists of 15 highly talented individuals who are passionate about their work. You will report to the Senior Manager, Engineering, who is experienced, approachable, and supportive of individual growth and professional development. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, requiring employees to come into the office for 2 days per week to foster team connectivity and collaboration. This arrangement allows for a good balance between remote work flexibility and in-person collaboration.

As part of NDB at Nutanix, there are no specific travel requirements. This means you can focus on your responsibilities and projects without the added stress of frequent travel.

Your Role

• Architect, design and develop a platform layer that interacts with Nutanix storage and provides API services to layers above. This layer should be modular enough to interact with cloud and other storage features.
• Develop a deep understanding of use cases and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.
• Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

What You Will Bring

• Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Python, GoLang, Java, ideally for enterprise-quality software
• Experience with working on distributed systems, DBaaS solutions and enterprise software is preferred.
• Good understanding of databases like PostgreSQL in terms of configuration, scalability and high availability is preferred.
• Experience working with Linux systems, storage and hypervisors is a plus.
• A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Advanced degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Experience of 5-8 years in developing enterprise software.

How we work

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week. However, certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
