AppDynamics Specialist (4-6 yrs)

Responsibilities :

AppDynamics Administration & Troubleshooting :

- Install, configure, and maintain AppDynamics agents on various platforms (Tomcat, WAS ND, Genfire, Tibco BW, Microservices, etc.

- Troubleshoot AppDynamics incidents, including issues related to agent installation, data collection, and performance.

- Identify and resolve issues related to nodes not reporting to the AppDynamics controller.

- Configure AppDynamics machine agent extensions for various technologies (Webserver, Nginx, IBM MQ, Tibco EMS, etc.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization :

- Monitor application performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address potential issues.

- Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into application performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Leverage AppDynamics to identify and troubleshoot business transactions, analyze flowcharts, and pinpoint performance bottlenecks.

Incident Management & Resolution :

- Participate in incident response activities, leveraging AppDynamics data to quickly identify root causes and facilitate resolution.

- Configure and manage alerts within AppDynamics to proactively notify teams of critical issues.

Continuous Improvement :

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AppDynamics and related technologies.

- Continuously improve AppDynamics monitoring and alerting configurations to enhance application visibility and proactively mitigate risks.

Technical Expertise :

- Strong understanding of AppDynamics architecture and its components.

- Hands-on experience with JVM argument configuration for optimal AppDynamics performance.

- Familiarity with basic Unix commands, ownership, and permission changes.

- Ability to work in a 24/7 on-call support environment (if required).

Qualifications :

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with AppDynamics as an Administrator or in a similar role.

- Strong understanding of application performance monitoring principles and best practices.

- Experience with Java and other relevant technologies (Tomcat, WAS ND, Genfire, Tibco BW, Microservices).

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying and resolving root causes.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data and identify performance trends.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
