National PED Manager- Field Crops

Role & responsibilities

Trials Execution:

• Deliver trials for field crops (Maize, Hybrid Rice, Research Rice, Pearl Millet, Mustard, Wheat, Jute, Fodder) with a 95% success rate.
• Coordinate with R&D, Crop Managers, and Sales/Marketing teams for accurate product evaluation.
• Capture qualitative crop attributes (biotic/abiotic stress tolerance, etc.).
• Manage PED budget and resources for trials.

Product Development & Market Insights:

• Prepare technical notes and conduct product training programs
• Conduct market assessment, competitor analysis, and demand estimation.
• Support business planning, launch strategy, and brand development for new/existing products.

Crop Tours & Portfolio Management:

• Plan and execute crop tours to maximize insights and plot visits.
• Monitor product lifecycle and demand estimation.
• Conduct product mapping, marketing initiatives, and serve as a master trainer for sales/marketing teams.

Data Quality & Operational Excellence:

• Train and monitor the PED team for performance and data quality.
• Ensure accurate and meaningful data collection (CV% 5-20%).
• Present data to PMT for product selection and commercialization.

SAU Trials & Reporting:

• Coordinate SAU, AICRP, and VCU trials, ensuring high-quality data collection and strong relationships with officials.

Technology & Agronomy Trials:

• Conduct trials for seed treatment, HT/DSR trials, spacing, and disease screening to enhance product value.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong expertise in field crop trial execution and product development.
• Experience in agronomic research, data quality management, and team leadership.
• Proficient in market assessment, competitor analysis, and product lifecycle management.
