Network Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Network Support Engineer to join our IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, configuring network devices, and providing support to end-users.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity, performance, and devices.

- Monitor network performance and identify areas of improvement.

- Configure, install and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances.

- Ensure that all network devices are updated with the latest firmware and software, and perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups and patching.

- Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution to network-related issues.

- Assist in the development and implementation of network security policies and procedures to ensure the organization's network security is robust and up-to-date.

- Collaborate with other IT teams, including applications development and security teams, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems and applications.

- Provide technical documentation and train end-users on new and existing network systems and services.

- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support of network-related issues.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

- 1-2 years of experience in network infrastructure support and troubleshooting.

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and related protocols.

- Working knowledge of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

- Familiarity with network monitoring tools like Wireshark or PRTG.

- Experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment.

- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Willingness to learn new technologies and tools in a fast-paced environment.
