We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Accounts/Finance Manager to oversee and manage the accounting and financial functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding and driving the finance team,
ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, cost management, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support business objectives. This role will require active collaboration with senior management and cross-functional teams, as well as a strong understanding of financial controls, systems, and processes.
Job Role and Key Responsibility Area:
- Oversee the overall accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records and reports are maintained in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Lead the finance team in budgeting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
Collaborate with business units to monitor operating financials, cost calculations, and budget performance from a commercial perspective.
- Manage detailed product costing processes to improve margins and maintain accountability for the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement.
- Develop and track financial plans in partnership with senior management and business units. Collaborate with the team to ensure that financial objectives are met according to plan.
- Ensure adherence to all compliance requirements including Direct and Indirect Taxes, Company Law, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee cash flow management, with particular attention to receivables, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted business operations.
- Lead efforts to optimize and strengthen financial systems and processes in line with industry best practices.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to address any issues or gaps, ensuring successful audits and compliance.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment, continuously developing team members' skills to enhance productivity and performance.
- Actively participate in the leadership team and contribute to strategic decision-making by highlighting the financial implications of key decisions.
- Ensure timely and accurate periodical management reporting and financial analysis to provide insights for decision-making.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- MBA, or CA with 6-8 years of hands-on experience in finance and accounting.
- Previous experience in an FMCG or similar industry is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work closely with various business units.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and responsibility for key financial tasks and projects.
- Good understanding of digital payment systems and platforms. Proficiency in using Tally or other SME accounting software.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, financial modelling, etc.).
- Strong understanding of statutory laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
