Key Responsibilities :
1. Industrial Engineering & Productivity Improvement
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production to improve efficiency.
- Conduct time and motion studies, define Standard Minute Values (SMVs), and optimize garment operations to improve line efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Just-in-Time (JIT) production methods.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
2. Line Balancing & Workstation Optimization
- Ensure proper line balancing to minimize bottlenecks and maximize workflow efficiency.
- Design efficient production layouts and optimize workstation ergonomics to enhance operator productivity.
- Implement modular production systems where applicable to improve flexibility and responsiveness.
- Analyze operator skill levels and assign tasks based on efficiency and competency.
3. Capacity Planning & Cost Optimization
- Work closely with production planning teams to determine factory capacity and ensure accurate manpower allocation.
- Develop methods to reduce idle time, machine downtime, and non-value-added activities.
- Drive initiatives to reduce Cost Per Minute (CPM) and improve Garment Costing Accuracy.
- Optimize cut-to-ship ratio and reduce material wastage through effective process control.
4. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste (MUDA) and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement Kaizen projects focused on process improvement and waste elimination.
- Analyze defects and reworks from an IE perspective and collaborate with quality teams to improve Right-First-Time (RFT) production.
- Conduct method improvements using industrial engineering tools such as MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique).
5. Team Development & Training
- Lead and mentor the Industrial Engineering team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest methodologies and best practices.
- Conduct training programs for operators and supervisors on productivity enhancement techniques.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Factory Efficiency (%) - Improvement in overall line efficiency.
- SAM Reduction (%) - Targeting a decrease in Standard Allowed Minutes.
- Production Target Achievement (%) - Ensuring timely delivery of production goals.
- Operator Productivity (pieces per operator per hour) - Optimizing individual efficiency.
- Cut-to-Ship Ratio (%) - Reducing fabric wastage and rework.
- Line Balancing Efficiency (%) - Improving workflow smoothness.
- Cost Per Minute (CPM) Reduction (%) - Driving cost-saving initiatives.
