Junior Engineer - Quality

Role & responsibilities

1. Calibration

• calibration of all measuring instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and maintaining corrective actions

2. Sample Inspection

• Conduct inspections on product samples during various stages of production to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Work with the production team to ensure that sample inspections reflect overall production quality.

3. Test Run and Validation

• Coordinate and execute test runs for new products and processes, ensuring they meet predefined quality and performance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth transition from test runs to full production.

4. Measurement System Management

• Manage and optimize measurement systems, ensuring they are capable of delivering precise and accurate results.
• Conduct regular Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to evaluate the performance of all measurement equipment.
• Ensure all measuring instruments are compliant with industry standards and are regularly calibrated and maintained.

5 . GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing )

• Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure proper application of GD&T standards in product drawings and specifications.
• Conduct inspections and measurements using GD&T principles to verify that parts conform to design specifications.
• Provide training and guidance to production and quality teams on interpreting GD&T symbols and tolerances.

6. First-Off Approval / Testing Approval

• Conduct initial inspections on first-off production runs to verify compliance with specifications.
• Work with the production team to establish process controls and ensure that the first-off parts meet customer requirements before proceeding with full production.

7. In-Process Inspection

• Perform real-time inspections during production runs to detect any deviations or defects early in the process.
• Use control plans to monitor critical process variables and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Document inspection findings and report issues to the production and quality teams.

8. Daily Rejection Analysis

• Review daily rejection data to identify trends and root causes of defects.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures.
• Prepare daily rejection analysis reports and lead corrective action initiatives.

9. Error-Proof Management (Poka-Yoke)

• Develop, implement, and maintain error-proofing solutions to minimize the occurrence of defects in production processes.
• Regularly assess and update error-proofing systems to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
• Train production staff on the importance and use of error-proofing mechanisms.

10. Non-Conformance Material (NCM) Handling

• Identify, segregate, and manage non-conforming materials (NCM) to prevent the use of defective products.
• Lead root cause analysis of NCM incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented.
• Track and report NCM trends, working with teams to reduce future occurrences.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates having experience in Automobile industry with the process of Molding, welding, crimping, soldering, potting, Assembly and testing
