Tech Manager, Engineering

We are currently hiring Tech Manager to join our growing Surveil-X R&D engineering team in Pune. 

So, what’s the role all about?

The role of a Tech Manager is to ensure the consistent and successful delivery of software product that meets functional and technical quality objectives. The Manager accomplishes this by employing their: project management skills, understanding of technology and software engineering, and people leadership. Additionally, the Tech Manager is responsible for hiring and maintaining a highly skilled and performing team of software engineering professionals and ensuring their needs for technical challenges, skill growth, and overall career development are met.

How will you make an impact?

• Technical design: Developing high-quality designs for applications and components 
• Project management: Determining project requirements, creating work schedules, and delegating tasks to the team 
• Code And Design review: Ensuring quality and consistency by performing code reviews and following SDLC guidelines 
• Technical documentation: Creating technical documentation for the project 
• Risk management: Identifying risks and planning mitigation actions 
• Team leadership: Leading a team of engineers, setting examples, and keeping the team motivated 
• Communication: Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard 
• Technical consulting: Contributing as a technical consultant for feasibility studies 

Have you got what it takes?

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering building highly available, scalable & distributed software systems
• 3+ years managing high performing team of 10+ engineers in an agile based software product development environment.
• Must have experience developing in Java's latest version. Candidates working in Python along with Java will be preferred.
• Must have experience in design and development using Microservice architecture.
• Must have experience developing Spring Boot applications.
• Must have experience developing database access layers using Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Must have experience in developing REST Services using Spring.
• Must have experience with any RDBMS and at least one NoSQL database.
• Must have experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit.
• Must have experience with CI / CD (Jenkins, Ansible)
• Must have experience using mock frameworks like Mockito, and WireMock.
• Must have experience using Git.
• Basic hands-on experience in one of the cloud providers (AWS/Azure) or at least Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with build tools Maven or Gradle.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with data processing frameworks like Flink/Spark
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Time Series databases and Graph databases
• Nice-to-have: Development experience with data pipelines and ETL technologies.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Security systems and practices (SAML, Oauth, JWT)
