Job Description

The Data Infrastructure team, part of the Technical Platform group, owns the data stores that support the ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval of events collected from millions of endpoints every second. It is responsible for the operations, automation, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of all critical data infrastructure, including Kafka, Clickhouse, and Amazon Aurora clusters.
Join a small team of diverse and experienced engineers who have full ownership of their domains, from the requirements gathering and design phase to implementation, validation, and deployment. You ll be part of a group that embraces DevOps and CI/CD principles, tries to automate everything they can, cares for quality and maintainability, and is working together to build a world-class internal developer platform with modern technologies and best practices.

As a Platform Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Work with Architecture, Product Engineering and Security teams to design, develop and evolve the Data Infrastructure, following modern cloud-native best practices
- Help make the Technical Platform a self-service offering so that Product Engineering teams can easily and reliably build on top of it
- Contribute to Nexthinks tooling and automation frameworks for provisioning and scaling the infrastructure, with particular focus on resiliency and elasticity strategies.
Your team will also handle more operational aspects of the infrastructure, such as:
- Monitoring and Observability. Build and manage the tooling for monitoring the platform, and assessing the health of the data pipelines.
- Operational reliability: Manage the availability of the databases and streaming platforms. Understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, resilience and performance attributes and requirements.
- Incident management and response: Detect, diagnose and fix incidents at the required Service Levels. Own of the post-mortem process of such incidents by writing technical content both for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team.
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer with knowledge of professional software development bes
