Regulatory and Testing Engineer - WFH

Role & responsibilities

• Research: Conduct research on performance, safety, and other applicable standards relevant to our products.
• Testing Program Management: Oversee all testing programs and ensure they are completed according to project timelines.
• Documentation: Organize and manage test reports in the engineering database for easy access and reference.
• Risk Assessment: Assist in the Risk Assessment and DFMEA process during product development to identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Data Analysis: Analyze, summarize, and present research information to cross-functional team members to inform decision-making.
• Test Plan Development: Develop product test plans to ensure that our products meet regulatory and product specification requirements.
• Test Forms Design: Design and create test forms to document test instructions, passing criteria, and record test results accurately.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, manufacturers, and third-party labs to arrange samples, testing equipment, quotations, and execute testing processes.
• Testing Results Presentation: Analyze, summarize, and present testing results to cross-functional team members, providing insights for product improvements.
• Product Test Summaries: Prepare Product Test Summaries for product verification and approval.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Product Development Team and Manufacturers to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
• Support for Creative and Marketing Teams: Provide the Creative and Marketing Teams with the necessary tools and information related to testing to support the development and promotion of new and existing products.
• Engineering Department Support: Offer support in other activities within the Engineering Department as required.
• Strengthening Regulatory and Testing Team Processes: Collaborate with the Regulatory and Testing Team to enhance processes and improve overall effectiveness.
• Support Improvement Initiatives: Assist in identifying areas for improvement within the Regulatory and Testing Team and actively contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency.
• Process Optimization: Work with team members to streamline regulatory compliance and testing processes, ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Help maintain accurate records and reports related to regulatory compliance and testing activities, contributing to the team's efficiency and documentation quality.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry regulations and testing methodologies to provide valuable insights and support team members in remaining informed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree / Diploma in engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Quality.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in testing Hardline products and conducting regulatory research.
• Proficiency in conducting technical research on product regulations and test standards for consumer products.
• Strong analytical skills to extract useful research material and review test results effectively.
• Demonstrated relevant engineering and technical knowledge.
• Knowledge of US and Canadian consumer product regulations, with familiarity in EU regulations considered a valuable asset.
• Experience in developing Test Plans and Test Protocols.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Experience in the consumer furniture and appliance industry would be an asset.
• Experience in the use of SolidWorks would be an asset.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to communicate and give presentations effectively in English.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals from various disciplines.
• Proactively self-driven and motivated with a positive attitude.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
