Developing and implementing purchasing strategies and policies

Identifying and selecting vendors to procure goods and services

Preparing and processing purchase orders and invoices

Negotiating prices and contracts with suppliers and vendors

Evaluating supplier performance and ensuring that they meet quality and delivery standards

Managing inventory levels and ensuring that materials and supplies are available when needed

Coordinating with other departments to ensure that their purchasing needs are met

Maintaining accurate records of purchases, inventory, and vendor performance

Monitoring market trends and staying up-to-date on changes in prices, products, and suppliers

Ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures and managing any deviations from these policies

Managing a team of purchasing professionals and providing training and development opportunities

Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors

Knowledge of purchasing procedures, supply chain management, and vendor management

Strong negotiation and communication skills
