Hardware Engineer (3-10 yrs)

Job Summary :

The Hardware Engineer specializing in schematic and layout design will be responsible for developing and implementing electronic hardware solutions. This role involves creating detailed schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring high performance and reliability in products while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Schematic Design :

- Develop and maintain detailed schematic diagrams for embedded systems using appropriate CAD tools.

- Collaborate with software and firmware teams to integrate hardware and software requirements.

2. PCB Layout Design :

- Create and optimize PCB layouts for embedded applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

- Conduct design rule checks (DRC) to validate layout integrity.

3. Embedded System Design :

- Design and select appropriate microcontrollers, sensors, and other components for embedded applications.

- Integrate peripherals and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and others.

4. Simulation and Testing :

- Perform simulations to assess electrical performance and signal integrity.

- Develop and execute test plans for prototypes, troubleshooting hardware issues as needed.

5. Documentation :

- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

- Maintain version control and documentation for all design files.

6. Collaboration :

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware developers, product managers, and QA engineers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Required Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience :

- 3+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.

- Proficient in using CAD tools such as Altium Designer, KiCAD, or OrCAD.

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded system design principles.

- Knowledge of power management, analog and digital circuit design, and RF considerations.

Analytical Skills :

- Ability to perform circuit analysis and troubleshooting of embedded systems.

- Experience with simulation software for electrical analysis.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with embedded software development (C/C++).

- Familiarity with IoT applications and protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP).

- Certifications related to PCB design (e.g., IPC CID/CID+).for PCB design).
