Network Support (BOT)
Key Activities for this role:

- Managing product lifecycles - Identifying, develop, monitor product lifecycles to maintain an up-to-date equipment portfolio.
- Identifying technologies to curate products and solutions - Creating business opportunities through the identification, validation, and selection of technologies to curate and leverage.
- Deploying integrated networks and solutions - Builds systems that install, configure, test, deploy and monitor network solutions, ensuring effective integration and automation.
- "Configuration: Develops advanced programming logic for automated configuration changes, orchestration and unit testing, leveraging and enhancing open-source libraries and frameworks appropriately.
- Testing: Supports automated system testing and acceptance activity, evaluates and addresses gaps in the system test plan, determines appropriate next steps, establishes norms for and co-ordinates automated system integration test efforts, tools, guidelines and frameworks for a single technology domain.
- Deployment: Supports the creation of a CI/CD framework, in collaboration with SMEs and partners, creating deployment guidelines and approaches that address the overarching outcomes and business goals, for a single technology domain in the context of the enterprise-wide strategy.
- Agile Team Working: Supports an agile team to plan and deliver code that meets the DoD, defining SCM practices to ensure that code and associated artefacts are properly versioned and controlled.
- Systems Engineering: Employs holistic ""systems thinking"" across multiple technology domains, defining appropriate integration and automation patterns in reusable proof of concepts (PoC) projects, contributing to complexity reduction in systems development".
- Designing networks and solutions - Translates requirements into a flexible, customer focused and cost-effective network or solution architecture that meets current and future needs.

- Network solution and design: Uses tools and automation to design and evolve a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for virtualised, service-based, secure and resilient networks and solutions, with intrinsic automated validation, collaborating across multiple domains.
- Documentation: Provides review of network and solution documentation for completeness, automated traceability, alignment with organisational standards and ease of understanding by customers and stakeholders".

- "Self-organising networks (SON): Combines SON principals with data analytics to deliver self-organising networks.
- Performance monitoring: Establishes network solution advanced performance metrics and enhances automated monitoring tools and data infrastructure to evaluate the system against these metrics, contributing to the development of predictive models to automate performance monitoring and capacity forecasting.
- Troubleshooting: Uses data infrastructure to automatically gather, manage and analyse performance data to identify parties impacted by service level changes or outages, escalates to relevant internal stakeholders, taking ownership and collaborating across teams.
- Optimisation: Evaluates automated optimisation opportunities for improving customer centricity, judging trade-offs between cost and customer benefits, using data and analytics to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
- Lifecycle management: Proactively manages network and IT lifecycle, using data to forecast end of life, developing retirement schedules in line with maintenance strategy.
- Network Business and Commercial - Defines and manages business and commercial agreements for the cost-effective delivery of network solutions.
- Business case: Owns the development of compelling business cases, working across the organisation to identify costs and benefits for different business units, performs sensitivity analysis and presents multiple business case options for assessment, critically evaluating designs for resilience, cost-effectiveness, scalability, security and performance.
- Partners and Vendors: Significantly contributes to the development of commercial arrangements with vendors and partners to ensure cost effective delivery of high-quality networks and solutions. Manages commercial relationships for a significant functional area within Networks.
- Commercial Strategy: Substantially contributes to commercial strategy to deliver required outcomes. Critically assesses technology selection to determine most economically viable solutions, taking into account deployment costs and all ongoing costs this may include consideration of capital expenditure versus consumption services models
