Position: Sales Engineer

Position Summary:


The role of the Sales Engineer is to assist the Sales team in reaching the revenue goal by providing the highest quality pre-sales technical support and presentations focused on articulating value to the prospective buyer. You will represent NETSCOUT Systems as the product solution specialist and work to ensure the best possible technical solution. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the largest companies, and exposure to market leading service assurance, packet flow switching, and security technologies.

You have significant interaction and consultation with customers; therefore, a solid understanding of the sales cycle is key. NETSCOUT Sales Engineers and their Account Managers will be placed in situations to uncover and develop new areas of business and relationships for NETSCOUT Systems.

You will report to the Sales Engineering Manager and work with a close-knit team of highly experienced and skilled Sales Engineers along with some of the most experienced account managers in the industry.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conducting sales presentations and demonstrations for existing and potential customers as well as partners.
  • Sales and technical enablement of partners within assigned regions.
  • Detailing/presenting NetScouts security product features, operation, and support services and outlining the resulting value propositions to customers/partners.
  • Responding to RFP/RFI/RFQs in coordination with sales account Manager. Assist with bid response point by point.
  • Installing and managing customer technical evaluations of NetScout’s security products.
  • Providing detailed/timely customer product feedback and feature requests to product management.
  • Architect solution and define and clearly document solution requirements to validate and cost the solution, and to enable sales to produce an accurate offer document.
  • Produce accurate and compelling customer-facing Solution Description document.
  • Create and tailor use cases to support individual sales opportunities.
  • Tailor customer business cases in support of individual sales opportunities.
  • Produces accurate solution descriptions, consistent with commercial offers and following controls/processes.
  • Share key customer insights with Solution Consultant peers.
  • Identify requirements for non-GA items and open Enhancement Requests for same, documenting customer requirements.
  • Leading technical discussions at partner workshops, tradeshows, and joint selling opportunities.
  • Performing and managing product implementations at customer locations in close coordination with the operations/deployment team.
  • Performing technical product training for customers and partners.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving product issues discovered during the trial or implementation process.
  • Scheduling and conducting introduction of customer to support team after completing implementations.
  • Speaking on technical or business-related subjects at industry or customer events on behalf of Netscout
  • Management of the technical relationship with all customers and prospects of the account manager during the sales process. This includes maintaining relationships with technical contacts within the customer, keeping account information up to date in the NetScout CRM system, and attending all sales, sales engineering, and product management meetings regarding the customer.
  • Research the recent market trends and present how our solution can help customers in these new areas
  • Develop own relationships in key accounts and be a strong contributor to overall account relationships.
  • Adhere to company policies and ethical guidelines
  • Position innovative products and articulate their value to customers
  • Travel within the region and occasionally beyond is required as well as remote office ability

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience of Pre-Sales (8-15 years), in the Cybersecurity domain
  • Strong understanding of the Cybersecurity domain and related products
  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Strong influencing & persuasion skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good composure in front of clients

  • A good level of persistence
  • Technical hands-on, able to install PoC systems and conduct the PoC effectively
