ecommerce Accountant

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. E-commerce Sales Management:
   
• Monitor and manage e-commerce sales channels, ensuring accurate order processing and inventory updates.
• Track and reconcile sales settlements from online platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, etc.
• Address discrepancies in sales reports and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve issues.
2. Accounting & Bookkeeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries, invoices, and payment records.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions using accounting software such as Tally, Vypar, Zoho Books.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and standards.
3. Reconciliation Tasks:
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and internal records.
• Reconcile online sales settlements with financial records to identify and address discrepancies.
4. Month-End Processes:
• Prepare and review financial statements for month-end closures.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports and performance summaries.
5. Statutory Returns and Compliance:
   
• Prepare and file statutory returns, including GST, TDS, and other applicable taxes.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all accounting and tax-related laws.
6. Process Improvement:
   
• Identify and implement improvements to streamline e-commerce and accounting workflows.
• Leverage technology, including APIs, Selenium

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in e-commerce sales accounting or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Tally, Vypar, Odoo, Zoho Books.
• Familiarity with e-commerce marketplaces and payment gateway settlement processes.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and statutory compliance.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
