The Senior VDC Engineerwill lead the virtual design and construction processes for projects in boththe US and UK markets. This role demands extensive experience in VDCmethodologies, proficiency in advanced modeling software, and the ability tomanage complex projects across different regulatory environments. The Senior VDCEngineer will be responsible for ensuring project efficiency, quality, andcollaboration among all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
VDC Strategy andImplementation:
Developand implement VDC standards, workflows, and best practices tailored to US andUK project requirements.
Ensureseamless integration of VDC processes into project planning and executionacross both regions.
Modeling andCoordination:
Create,manage, and update detailed 3D BIM models using software such as Revit,Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
Performclash detection and manage resolution processes to ensure design accuracy andconstructability.
Coordinatewith architects, engineers, and contractors to align models with projectspecifications and regulatory requirements in both the US and UK.
Collaboration andCommunication:
FacilitateVDC coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders across differenttime zones.
Providetechnical support and training to project teams on VDC tools and processes.
Serveas the primary point of contact for VDC-related inquiries and issues, ensuringeffective communication between US and UK teams.
Project Management:
Monitorand report on VDC project progress, including timelines, milestones, anddeliverables, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
Assistin the development of project proposals, cost estimates, and resourceallocation plans for VDC activities.
Ensurethat all VDC deliverables comply with industry standards and clientrequirements in both regions.
Technology andInnovation:
Stayupdated on the latest VDC technologies, tools, and industry trends in both theUS and UK.
Evaluateand recommend new tools and technologies to enhance VDC capabilities.
Implementinnovative solutions to streamline workflows and improve project outcomes.
Quality Assurance andControl:
Conductquality checks and audits on BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance withproject standards and regulatory requirements.
Developand enforce quality control procedures for VDC deliverables.
Ensurecompliance with industry regulations and company policies in both the US andUK.
Documentation andReporting:
Prepareand maintain detailed documentation of VDC processes, models, andproject-related information.
Generatereports and presentations for project stakeholders. Document lessons learnedand best practices to continuously improve VDC processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelordegree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a relatedfield.
Advancedcertifications in VDC/BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) arepreferred.
Experience:
Minimumof 4-6 years of experience in VDC/BIM within the construction industry.
Proventrack record of managing VDC processes on complex, large-scale projects in boththe US and UK.
Skills:
Advancedproficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and relatedtools.
