Job Description
Overview
The ELV Site Engineer plays a crucial role in the effective implementation and management of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems within construction and infrastructure projects. As technology continues to advance and integrate into buildings and infrastructure, the need for specialized engineers to oversee such systems has become paramount. This position is responsible for ensuring that all ELV systems, including but not limited to, security systems, fire alarm systems, communication systems, and building management systems, are installed according to specifications and within budget constraints. The ELV Site Engineer collaborates with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that systems are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards. Continuous monitoring and troubleshooting form part of the role, making this position integral to successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation of ELV systems at construction sites.
- Conduct site surveys to assess the implementation of ELV technologies.
- Coordinate with project managers to define project requirements and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards for ELV systems.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of ELV projects.
- Perform regular inspections and testing of installed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively and efficiently.
- Interact and communicate with clients to provide updates and address concerns.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors for effective execution of projects.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and site reports.
- Assist in developing project schedules and resource allocation plans.
- Evaluate and manage project risks to mitigate potential issues.
- Train and supervise on-site technical teams as necessary.
- Develop methods for the optimization of ELV systems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline.
- Proven experience as an ELV Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of ELV system components and technologies.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and software.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices within construction environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Certifications related to ELV systems and project management are a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing environments and project scopes.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
- Fluent in English, knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
