OT Nursing Cum Technician (also known as Operating Theatre Nurse and Technician) is a healthcare professional responsible for assisting in surgeries and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room (OR). Their job responsibilities include a mix of nursing and technical tasks, both of which are crucial for ensuring that surgical procedures are carried out smoothly and safely. Here are the key responsibilities of an OT Nursing Cum Technician:

Ensure that the operating room is clean, sterile, and fully equipped with the necessary surgical tools and instruments.

• Prepare surgical instruments and ensure they are sterile and functioning correctly.
• Arrange and set up the required surgical equipment, including machines and tools.
• Maintain an organized inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.

2. Assisting the Surgical Team:

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team during the operation by providing necessary tools, instruments, and supplies as required.
• Handle instruments with precision and according to the needs of the procedure.
• Monitor and manage sterile field practices to avoid contamination during surgery.

3. Patient Preparation:

• Prepare the patient for surgery by ensuring proper positioning and ensuring that the surgical site is marked and cleaned.
• Administer preoperative medications and assist in patient sedation under the supervision of the medical team.
• Verify patient identity and surgical site as per safety protocols to prevent errors.

4. Intraoperative Support:

• Assist in monitoring the patient's vital signs during surgery, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
• Keep track of surgical counts (e.g., sponges, instruments) to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
• Maintain a sterile environment and assist the surgical team in maintaining cleanliness.

5. Postoperative Care:

• Assist in transferring patients to the recovery room after surgery and monitor their initial recovery status.
• Ensure proper documentation of the surgical procedure and any instruments used.
• Provide post-surgical instructions to patients and assist the nursing team in follow-up care.

6. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Regularly maintain and clean surgical equipment and instruments.
• Troubleshoot and assist with the operation of technical devices, such as anesthetic machines or surgical lasers.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctions to the appropriate department.

7. Sterilization and Infection Control:

• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, such as sterilizing surgical instruments and maintaining sterile drapes, gowns, and gloves.
• Dispose of waste materials and used supplies in a safe and hygienic manner.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

• Document the surgical process, including patient details, the surgical procedure, and any anomalies or incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of all materials, equipment, and instruments used during surgery.

9. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:

• Work closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient care.
• Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure smooth surgical procedures.

10. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations:

• Follow hospital policies, health, and safety regulations related to operating room protocols and patient care.
• Stay updated on new surgical techniques, instruments, and best practices in OT nursing and technology.ilities

2 years Experience with OT Scrub Side who can assist All general surgey Laproscopy cases , Ortho cases , ENT cases, Gynae , Urology cases.

Diploma in OT Techician or Nursing with proper 3years + Expereince with OT
