Expeditor (Offroll)

Role & responsibilities

• Expediting / Inspection / Quality Surveillance / QA -QC activities at manufacturing shops of static and rotary equipment and other components as well as at construction sites.
• Equipment like the following would be monitored: Pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, other equipment, storage tanks, line pipes, structures, materials.
• Co-ordinate with the project team to ensure creation of delivery schedule and its implementation.
• Have to visit at various vendor locations (Mumbai, Pune & Gujarat) to monitor shop / site quality and progress and update schedule regularly
• Preparing & circulating fortnightly/monthly progress report to the management team including Project Head
• Follow up with concerned person / organisation and coordinate to release the drawings/ documents / components.
• Solve the issues with shop / site and drawings/documents
• Monitor contractor resource adequacy at regular interval.
• Organizing shop / site meeting, circulating site meeting agenda and subsequent minutes of meeting related to quality and progress of project with client and vendors.
• Assist the client in project execution.
• Ensure compliance as per the relevant drawings/specifications/Test Plans
• Co-ordination with the vendor and sub vendors for timely execution of jobs.
• To provide quality related support if required in absence of TPI.
• To locate and identify the bottlenecks that will delay the dispatch and highlight them to the projects team.
• Reporting back to Management about any slippage/pending/delayed activities.
• Obtain from manufacturer / contractor the revised catch-up plan based on actual progress and constraints.
• Previous Experience with Third Party Inspection Agency will be an added advantage.

Key Challenges

1. Coordination with internal and external stakeholders for timely completion of works as per Schedule.

2. Ensure compliance to all standards and specifications by PMC / EPC Contractors.

Skills & Knowledge

A. Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

1. BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

2. Preferably PMP certified.

B. Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

1. 9 to 12 years experience in expediting, Inspection, Quality Surveillance / QA-QC activities at manufacturing shops. Review of engineering documents, development of QA systems etc.

2. Experience in both Rotary and Static Mechanical Engineering in Hydrocarbon plants

C. Functional Skills:

1. Working knowledge of National/ International Standards and codes such as ASME, ASTM, IS, IEC and BSEN

2. ISO 9001 quality management system

3. Day to day co-ordination with PMC / EPC Contractors

4. Ability to monitor and report compliance to schedule and cost baselines.
