What youll do

You ll be overseeing the smooth running of your unit, creating and embedding a high performing culture of customer service, driven by a passion for exceeding customers expectations and will be responsible for handling and providing expert guidance on complex sanctions cases and supporting the overall Financial crime Services strategy.

Additionally, you ll be:

Translating and implementing high level strategic plans into a series of achievable goals, objectives and priorities
Driving the delivery of an outstanding customer experience and proactively improving service and sales figures through effective performance management
Responsible to provide Subject Matter expertise in the areas of Sanctions Regulations, Regulatory frameworks, Transaction / Payment Filtering and create a control framework within which the team can operate.
The escalation point for sanctions matters and work closely with internal teams across Operations and Technology as well as functional stakeholders to manage risks and ensure compliance

The skills youll need

To join us in this role, you ll need extensive leadership experience and a proven ability to deliver outstanding results through others. We ll be looking for excellent communication and interpersonal skills and crucially, a strong customer focus and experience in customer service delivery techniques.

We ll also be looking for you to demonstrate:

Experience in being a Functional Expert in Sanctions or Anti Money Laundering Operations and having experience in financial crime compliance and / or Transaction / Payment Filtering.
The ability to to handle sanctions escalations and deliver solutions and guidance on risk management
People Management experience and capability to mentor and train large Operations Teams on sanctions regulations and compliance with excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop compliance strategies and e xperience of working with regulators/ authorities
