Manager - US Medical Billing (AR)
• Position Overview:
The Manager - AR oversees the strategic and operational aspects of the accounts receivable department,
ensuring completion of SLA bond task per client agreement, compliance with industry standards, and
client satisfaction. This leadership role involves managing large teams, driving process improvements,
and achieving organizational goals.
• Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize accounts receivable processes.
• Align AR department objectives with organizational goals and KPIs.
• Providing mentorship to Assistant Managers and team leads to enhance performance and team
morale.
• Assess team size and resource utilization based on process needs.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Reduce average days outstanding by ensuring prompt and effective follow-ups.
Operational Management:
• Oversee end-to-end AR processes, including claim follow-ups, denial management & root cause
of denials.
• Monitor department performance metrics and ensure adherence to SLAs and client deliverables.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase the clean claims ratio and
enhance collections.
• Conduct regular reviews of workflows to ensure smooth operations and address bottlenecks.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and payer-specific guidelines in all AR activities.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance measures to minimize errors and improve accuracy.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as a primary contact person for escalations.
• Represent the department in cross-functional meetings and leadership discussions.
• Involve in the onboarding of new clients to understand the baseline and strategy of managing
their outstanding AR.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on department performance to senior leadership.
• Leverage insights to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
• Address complex AR challenges, including large-scale payer disputes and systemic issues.
• Lead crisis management efforts during operational disruptions or client escalations.
• Prioritize tasks effectively and ensure timely resolution of critical issues
• Qualifications and Skills
• Must be a college graduate (any discipline) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in AR and
4 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement policies and procedures for multiple provider
specialties.
• Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and monitor the financial health of clients.
