Role & responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Control:
  
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for building construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Evaluate and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure they stay within budget.
• Analyze variations in costs and provide timely reports to management and stakeholders.
• Contract Management:
  
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and managing contracts with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Ensure that all contractual obligations are met, including reviewing claims for additional costs.
• Planning & Scheduling:
  
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that construction milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with the project management team to identify potential delays and implement corrective measures.
• Prepare progress reports and status updates for senior management and clients.
• Procurement & Material Management:
  
• Manage the procurement process for materials and resources required for the construction project.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and goods to the project site.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used, ensuring compliance with budget constraints.
• Site Supervision & Quality Control:
  
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure quality standards are adhered to.
• Assist in resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the construction phase.
• Reporting & Documentation:
  
• Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including cost reports, budgets, and contractual correspondence.
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts and close-out reports for completed projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in building construction projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project, and other construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, and contract management.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems, evaluate solutions, and implement the best course of action.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and project documentation.
