Program Director for Automotive

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for:

- Designing a competency-based curriculum for the program.

- Developing state-of-the-art lab facilities to support the program's objectives.

- Delivering high-quality teaching at the postgraduate level.

- Actively pursuing industry-academia collaborations.

- Regularly updating the curriculum based on feedback from industry, alumni, and students.

- Promoting practical learning through value-added courses.

- Facilitating internships and apprenticeships with industry partners.

- Encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

- Managing lab resources efficiently, ensuring optimal use of specialized equipment and software tools.

- Preparing an annual budget in consultation with the Dean (Academics) for lab resources and maintenance.

- Advancing the academic program to position the Centre of Excellence as a leader in the field.

The candidate will be encouraged to:

- Undertake consultancy projects from the industry.

- Attend reputed conferences and seminars to develop networks, exchange ideas, and stay updated with emerging technologies.

Deliverables:

Curriculum Development:

- Design and implement an industry-centric curriculum with support from global academic and industry partners.

- Update the curriculum annually based on stakeholder feedback and promote practical skill building activities.

- Propose new courses and expand student intake in consultation with the Dean (Academics).

Infrastructure Development:

- Design modern classrooms, labs, and workshops aligned with innovative teaching methods.

- Prepare the annual budget, with justification, for additional laboratory spaces, equipment, machinery, and software as required.

Industry Partnerships:

- Foster collaborations for internships, industrial visits, and consulting projects with industry partners.

Academic Affairs:

- Participate in the selection and training of qualified faculty and lab staff, defining clear roles and responsibilities.

- Oversee all academic activities, including instruction, examinations, and the final announcement of results.

- Organize seminars, conferences, workshops, and training programs on relevant topics.
