MEP Engineer

As an MEP Engineer at Nambiar Builders Pvt Ltd, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. Your role involves ensuring that these systems meet technical requirements, comply with regulations, and contribute to the overall functionality and sustainability of buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Design: Design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for buildings, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage systems. Ensure designs meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
2. Coordination: Coordinate MEP designs with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integration with building layouts and structural elements. Address any conflicts or design issues that arise during the planning and construction phases.
3. Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analysis and calculations to determine system requirements, load capacities, energy efficiency, and other performance parameters. Use software tools and modeling techniques to optimize system designs and identify cost-effective solutions.
4. Material and Equipment Selection: Select appropriate materials, equipment, and components for MEP systems based on project requirements, performance criteria, and budget constraints. Evaluate vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and reliability of products.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that MEP designs and installations comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and local plumbing codes. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
6. Quality Assurance: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure they function as intended and meet design specifications. Conduct site inspections and quality audits to identify and resolve any installation issues or deficiencies.
7. Project Management: Manage MEP aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of MEP work within project deadlines.
8. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency: Integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient technologies into MEP systems to minimize environmental impact and reduce operating costs. Recommend strategies for improving energy performance and optimizing system efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Professional engineering license (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Previous experience in MEP design, construction, or consulting engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and MEP design software.
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate resources effectively.
