Assistant Manager - Costing, Audit & Taxation

Role & responsibilities

1. Cost Audit

• Calculations of project cost, determination of break-even points, calculations of unit costing and target costing etc
• Analysis of cost variances and budget variances
• Setting up cost centres and cost control necessary for the construction industry
• Collect cost information and maintain and expenses database
• Determine fixed costs (eg salaries, rent & insurance)
• Plan and record variable costs
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
• Analyse and report profit margins
• Prepare budgeting reports
• Prepare costs forecasts

2. Taxation

• Assist in Indirect Tax planning for upcoming & existing projects
• Assisting and verifying GST returns on a timely basis
• Involvement with Indirect tax workings & assessments
• Validating Bank payments w.r.t GST
• Assist in recovery of excess GST Paid

3. Internal Control

• Involvement with Internal Audit functions whenever necessary
• Interest calculation for delayed payment from clients
• Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven work experience of 3 to 5 years as a Cost Accountant , Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role (CMA/CA/CA Inter)
• Effective Cost audit Report drafting skills
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Indepth understanding of GAAP - General Accepted Accounting Principles
• Knowledge of Accounting ERP Software
