Job Description
- Manage and oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for a variety of business entities, including partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and LLCs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including monitoring changes in tax legislation and implementing necessary adjustments to tax strategies and reporting.
- Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues and provide guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, legal, and external tax advisors, to gather necessary information and ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organizations tax position, minimize tax liabilities, and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding tax implications of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.
- Manage and respond to tax inquiries, audits, and notices from tax authorities, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and proactively communicate relevant updates to the organization.
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A masters degree in taxation or a CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on business returns.
- In-depth knowledge of US tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including proficiency in federal and state tax research.
- Strong experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns for various business entities, such as partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and LLCs.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data in relation to tax compliance and reporting.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing effective tax strategies, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and mitigating tax risks.
