Role & responsibilities:

We are looking for a Principal to join Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya (English Medium) Maharashtra State Board school in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.


Core Responsibilities:

  • As prime responsibility to ensure delivery of the academics to the students is done as per the expected standards. Conduct Lectures as per Time Table, observe lessons of teachers, correction of notebooks, prepare log books and lesson plan and other preparations as and when required.
  • To understand the composition of teachers and their background with reference to their strength and weakness. Accordingly utilize their talent in the best interest of school/college.
  • To understand the composition of students and accordingly suggest remedial measures to modify the teaching as per the specific need if any, of the student. This to be achieved by interaction with the students.
  • To ensure overall discipline is followed in school by the teachers, students and non-teaching staff.
  • To ensure attendance of students is up to the mark.
  • To have constant assessment, involvement and evaluation of students.
  • To have daily interaction with the School and College Coordinator and sort the day to day matters.
  • To conduct candidate interviews, attend demo classes and report the outcome to the Management.
  • To ensure that the school records, teachers log books, registers, attendance records, library records and laboratory records are updated and in order at any given point of time.
  • To ensure that the entries of the students is done in the General Register.
  • To keep updated on the various students, school and RTE portals and updates to be done in the same.
  • To conduct weekly School/College/teachers and HODs meeting for academic review. Prepare/Maintain the Minutes of these Meetings.
  • To ensure that the CCE work to be done by the teachers is done on time and submissions done as per due date.
  • To monitor the Subject Department, Exam Department, Cultural Department and any other departments created as and when felt necessary.
  • To find out innovative methods of teaching and accordingly suggest the teachers to use the same for better understanding of students.
  • To keep yourself updated on the latest Government Resolution (GR) and keep the Management updated on the same.
  • To conduct Open House meetings and ensuring the Minutes of the Minutes are maintained.
  • 18. Interacting with the parents, counsel for any issues related to academic performance faced and resolve the same.
  • To address and resolve the complaints raised by parents and students.
  • To handle Official correspondence of the school/college related to Education department/Government Bodies and provide information required before the mentioned due dates.
  • To prepare and produce the School/College related data/statistics and information as and when required by the Management.
  • To supervise, guide and control the work of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school with the help of Superintendent.
  • To make satisfactory arrangements for the supply of good drinking water and provide other facilities for the pupils and ensure that the school building, its fixtures and furniture office equipment, laboratory, lavatories, play grounds, school garden and other properties are properly and carefully maintained with the help of Superintendent.
  • To be in charge of admission in the school, preparation of school/college timetable, allocation of duties and teaching load to the teachers, and shall provide necessary facilities to the teachers in the discharge of their duties and conduct of school examination in accordance with the instruction issued by the Government/Board/Management from time to time and he/ she shall discharge these duties in consultation with his/her colleagues.
  • To plan the year's academic work in advance in consultation with your colleagues and hold regular staff meetings, review the work done and assess the progress of the students.
  • To plan Examination schedule as per guidelines provided by The Management.
  • To ensure that the report cards are updated, signed before giving to the students/parents.
  • To ensure that sufficient revision sessions are conducted by the teachers before the examinations.
  • You shall supervise class room teaching and secure co-operation and coordination amongst teachers of the same subject areas as well as inter subject coordination.
  • To ensure the teachers substitution as and when necessary is done as and when necessary, well in time.
  • To arrange for remedial teaching of the children belonging to the weaker sections of the community also of other children who need such remedial teaching.
  • To check the official emails received daily and respond/take the required action on the same.
  • To ensure that the co-curricular activities are being conducted and track/report the progress of the students in the same.
  • To ensure that any additional activities (where Management is associated) in which students take part are being done as per schedule. To provide report on the same.
  • To teach subject/s given to you as per the allocated periods, setting paper, preparing worksheets for the subject and ensure the necessary records for the same are maintained.
  • To help Management in devising strategy for increasing the admissions in school/college.
  • To overlook the revenue collection for school.
  • To overlook legal and official matters pertaining to school.
  • To support Management in the CSR activities as and when scheduled.
  • Check if security and ancillary staff all in place for traffic duties when students start coming to school. Take a rounds of school.
  • Observe the traffic duties, flow of students in to their respective classes and ensure that security, ancillary and teachers are all sitting for the attendance duties. Same to be done when students leave school. Overlook teachers and students uniform.
  • Attending Assembly
  • Check Attendance catalogue
  • Go through reports, cross check books corrected by teachers
  • Zoom meetings with MT
  • Take update from Admin Department
  • Observe the traffic of students leaving for the day.
  • Teachers meeting, HOD meeting, English teachers meeting and Coordinators meeting.
  • Dealing with parents.
  • Conducting PTA, Open House, Transport committee meetings
  • Write up of events
  • Sending Letters to sponsors
  • Signing leaving certificates
  • Conducting English communication classes with teachers
  • Maintaining Records of apologies submitted by teachers and students.
  • Maintaining Records of pending report cards not taken by the parents during open houses.
  • To ensure overall discipline is followed in school by the teachers, students and non-teaching staff.
  • To have constant assessment, involvement and evaluation of students.
  • Meeting with Admin department to be conducted daily.
  • Meeting with Teachers 2 times a week.
  • Meeting with Coordinators once a week.
  • Meeting with Head Of Department once a week.
  • Meeting with English teachers as HOD of English department.
  • Note: 45 min to 1 hr to be spent with each of above.
  • Exam papers and answer sheets to be sent to supporting teachers 6 to 8 weeks ahead of time.
  • Sitting into class observation 3 to 3 times in a week.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • A Bachelor of Education/Master of Education Degree holder with 20 years plus experience in teaching filed.
  • Passion for teaching and strong administrative experience.
  • Strong English communication skills with a flair for the local Marathi language.


We Expect:

  • The job requires the physical presence of the Principal at school.
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Ratnagiri, Maharashtra (Rural) which is 2 hrs from Chiplun, 3 hrs from Kolhapur and 6 hrs from Pune.
  • Housing facility will be provided to candidate from outside Ratnagiri.
  • Candidates should be ready to work from Monday to Saturday, (Saturday being half day working)
