Assistant Manager - NPD - SHEET METAL

The NPD Engineer / Assistant Manager will be responsible for leading the development and manufacturing of sheet metal products. This role involves managing the entire product development process, from concept to production, and ensuring that all products meet quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of sheet metal parts and assemblies using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
• Create detailed 2D/3D development, engineering drawings, and specifications for sheet metal products.
• Define and oversee manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, bending, forming, punching, welding, and finishing.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, production, quality, and procurement.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, project reports, and test results.
• Create and oversee PPAP documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct product testing and quality assurance to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
• Analyze product performance and customer feedback to inform future development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 - 15 years of experience in sheet metal development and manufacturing.
• Proven experience in leading development projects for sheet metal products.
• Hands-on experience with processes like CNC Laser, Turret punch, CNC press brake, welding, and powder coating.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
• In-depth knowledge of sheet metal processes and tools.
• Familiarity with FA (First Article), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
• Hands-on experience with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, GI, copper, and MS.
