Life Cycle Assessment Specialist

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the development and execution of comprehensive life cycle assessments (LCA) of Momentives products and processes. Provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients, driving environmental impact reduction initiatives across the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Sustainability Strategy Leader and cross-functional teams to design, enhance, and implement advanced tools, methodologies, and automation solutions (e.g., Excel models, commercial LCA software). Ensure these tools are scalable and enable efficient analysis of environmental impacts.
• Compile, analyze and interpret data on the environmental performance of products and processes for generating improvements and to facilitate decision making.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in LCA methodologies, sustainability standards, and regulations. Proactively monitor and evaluate emerging trends, ensuring Momentives practices remain at the forefront of industry developments and compliance requirements.
• Attend to any other data handling/management support as requested by stakeholders.
• Deliver periodic reporting for various user groups, as requested.
• Exert influence on the organizations overall objectives by aligning projects and insights with long-term strategic goals, contributing to Momentive's vision for sustainability and innovation.
• Work independently in handling and resolving queries from business in a timely manner.

Preferred candidate profile

• Masters in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
• Experience with LCA assessments and reporting, including knowledge of current tools and trends; LCA verification agencies
• Able to work effectively in an international cultural environment.
• Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to read and analyze complex data.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written, and explain technical concepts or innovations to technical and non-technical employees.
