Senior TypeScript Backend Developer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior TypeScript Backend Developer to join our engineering team

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications while mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities



Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js

Lead the development of complex features from technical design through implementation and deployment

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and design patterns

Collaborate with frontend developers to define and implement API contracts

Optimize application performance and implement caching strategies

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members

Mentor junior developers and contribute to their technical growth

Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction of the backend systems

Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust error handling

Document technical specifications and maintain API documentation

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience

3+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js in production environments

Strong understanding of backend development principles, design patterns, and best practices

Expertise in building RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

Proficiency in implementing authentication, authorization, and security best practices

Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Strong knowledge of git version control and CI/CD practices

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Strong communication skills and experience mentoring junior developers

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Familiarity with infrastructure as code and DevOps practices

Experience with monitoring tools and observability platforms

Contributions to open-source projects

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha)
