Role : Database Engineer with SQL and Power BI Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer- with expertise in SQL and Power BI to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, management, and optimization, along with the ability to work with advanced reporting tools to deliver impactful business intelligence solutions. Key Responsibilities :

1. Database Design and Management :

- Develop and maintain complex SQL databases to store, manage, and retrieve large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions that support business operations.

- Perform data modeling, normalization, and indexing to ensure optimal database performance.

- Design, implement, and maintain data integration workflows for consistent data movement between systems.

- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance by following best practices and adhering to industry standards.

- Regularly back up data, restore data, and maintain high availability.

2. SQL Development and Optimization :

- Write and optimize complex - SQL queries- to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data across various databases.

- Develop stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate repetitive tasks and improve data handling.

- Work on performance tuning and troubleshooting, ensuring high database performance and scalability.

- Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues in production and development environments.

- Implement database best practices for security, disaster recovery, and data management.

3. Power BI Reporting and Dashboard Development :

- Use - Power BI- to create insightful, interactive dashboards and reports, enabling decision-makers to gain valuable business insights from data.

- Transform raw data from SQL databases into visually appealing, intuitive reports and dashboards that can be easily interpreted by non-technical users.

- Implement Power BI security roles, allowing different user groups to view data according to their level of access.

- Integrate Power BI with various data sources, ensuring seamless data connections and automatic report refreshes.

- Provide training and support for end-users on Power BI usage, best practices, and report creation.

4. Data Analysis and Business Intelligence :

- Leverage SQL and Power BI to analyze complex data and uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support business strategies.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define metrics, KPIs, and other important data points for reporting.

- Prepare and deliver data-driven presentations to stakeholders to assist with decision-making.

- Work closely with the Data Science and Analytics teams to translate analytical models into business solutions.

5. Collaboration and Communication :

- Work with cross-functional teams including software developers, data scientists, business analysts, and project managers to meet the organization's data and reporting needs.

- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that data systems and reports meet business requirements.

- Continuously seek out and implement improvements to enhance database performance, reporting processes, and the overall user experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree- in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

- Proven experience as a - Database Engineer- with strong proficiency in - SQL- (T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.) and relational database management systems (RDBMS).

- Hands-on experience with - Power BI- for report development, dashboard design, and data analysis.

- Familiarity with ETL tools, data modeling, and relational database design.

- Strong knowledge of database performance optimization techniques, including indexing, query optimization, and caching.

- Experience with Power BI integration, custom visualizations, and implementing security roles.

- Ability to work with large datasets and perform complex data analysis.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with - cloud databases- (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

- Familiarity with additional reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) is a plus.

- Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.

- Certification in - Power BI- or relevant database technologies.
