Engineer - IoT Protocols (4-8 yrs)

Job Description :

IoT Integration & Development :

- Design, develop, and implement IoT solutions for 2-wheeler Electric Vehicle (EV) systems.

- Collaborate with the product development team to integrate IoT hardware and software into EV components, ensuring seamless connectivity and data transfer.

- Develop and maintain secure communication protocols between IoT devices and central control systems.

Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates :

- Lead the development and implementation of OTA software update processes for vehicle systems.

- Ensure that all firmware and software updates are rolled out effectively, minimizing disruptions in vehicle performance.

- Monitor and maintain OTA systems for real-time updates and troubleshoot any issues related to software distribution.

System Architecture Design :

- Work on the architecture of IoT systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and low-latency performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, product design) to ensure the compatibility of IoT platforms with vehicle systems.

- Design and develop real-time monitoring systems to track vehicle performance, location, and diagnostics through IoT platforms.

Data Collection & Analytics :

- Implement IoT systems to collect and analyze vehicle data such as performance metrics, diagnostics, and user behavior.

- Work closely with the data analytics team to leverage collected data for improving vehicle design and user experience.

- Utilize machine learning models and data-driven algorithms for predictive maintenance and performance optimization.

Security & Compliance :

- Ensure the security of IoT systems by implementing data encryption, secure communication channels, and access control.

- Keep up to date with industry regulations and standards related to IoT in the automotive sector.

- Conduct regular security audits and updates to protect systems from vulnerabilities and data breaches.

Testing & Validation :

- Lead testing and validation efforts for IoT and OTA systems, ensuring reliability and performance under various conditions.

- Work with quality and testing teams to identify potential issues, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in IoT applications.

- Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, and system optimization.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination :

- Liaise with third-party vendors and suppliers to integrate external IoT technologies into the product.

- Manage relationships with external partners to ensure the timely delivery of IoT and OTA components.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all IoT and OTA systems meet business requirements.

Key Skills Required :

- Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP, CoAP) and communication standards.

- Hands-on experience with OTA update frameworks and tools.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java for embedded systems.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS IoT, Google Cloud IoT, or Azure IoT.

- Experience with automotive communication standards (CAN, LIN, UDS) is a plus.

- Knowledge of security protocols in IoT ecosystems.

- Experience with data analytics and machine learning applications for IoT.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related fields.

- Experience in the automotive or electric vehicle (EV) industry, particularly with 2-wheelers.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
