Job Description

Architect end-to-end IoT solutions using Azure Sphere with a focus on device connectivity, real-time monitoring and complete integration with Azure IoT Hub & PaaS services.
Collaborate with hardware teams to create and integrate Azure Sphere MCU into proprietary hardware solutions.
Design and deliver cloud-native architecture for a complete rewrite of an existing monolithic application into microservices on Azure PaaS (App Services, Azure SQL, Redis, Front Door).
Conduct deep-dive assessments of the legacy application (Apache, PHP, Java) to reimagine its functionality using modern Azure-based services and patterns.
Establish microservices design patterns (e.g., event-driven, messaging) and create reusable reference implementations for scalability, fault tolerance, and resilience.
Champion design patterns (e.g., Factory, Strategy, Observer) to develop shared code libraries that promote maintainability and efficiency across microservices.
Define and maintain a comprehensive software design document, highlighting architectural decisions, best practices, and block code reuse guidelines.
Implement secure, scalable, and automated CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar), emphasizing automated testing, code quality checks, and continuous delivery.
Develop and enforce observability strategies, including advanced monitoring, distributed tracing, and logging.
Enforce cloud security and governance principles across all resources, including network segmentation, identity and access management, and data protection.
Collaborate with teams to optimize database schemas and data flows in Azure SQL, leveraging advanced tuning and partitioning for high performance.
Guide developers in domain-driven design, service boundary definition, and API lifecycle management to ensure loosely coupled and highly cohesive services.
Provide expert-level architectural guidance, regularly conducting technical reviews to keep the solution aligned with Azure best practices and organizational standards.

Proven experience architecting brand-new cloud-native solutions on Azure App Services, with deep knowledge of microservices and distributed systems design.
Proven experience in Azure Sphere or other IoT technologies.
Experience designing embedded software architecture and microcontroller instruction sets.
Proficient in C/C++/Embedded C
Expert-level proficiency in Azure PaaS offerings (App Services, Azure SQL, Redis, Front Door) and the ability to modernize legacy functionality (Apache, PHP, Java).
Demonstrated expertise in design patterns, reusable code blocks, and building shared libraries that streamline development and ensure consistency.
Hands-on experience with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for provisioning and managing Azure resources at scale.
Strong command of DevOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, build pipelines) using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
In-depth knowledge of Azure networking (VNet configurations, network security groups, load balancing) and security best practices (Key Vault, RBAC, managed identities).
Advanced skills in database optimization with Azure SQL (index management, partitioning, performance tuning) for large-scale, high-volume applications.
Proven track record of leading greenfield or modernization projects, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring technical teams on best practices.
Experience with enterprise integration patterns and event-driven architectures using Azure services (e.g., Service Bus, Event Grid) when suitable.
Adept at technical documentation, creating living artefacts that detail system design, architectural rationale, and reusable code patterns for wider adoption.
