Role & responsibilities

1. Medication Dispensing

• Filling prescriptions: Ensuring that prescribed medications are accurately dispensed to patients.
• Patient counseling: Educating patients on how to take their medications properly, including potential side effects, interactions, and special instructions.

2. Patient Education

• Providing drug information: Offering clear instructions and advice on medication usage, including proper administration, side effects, and potential risks.
• Promoting health and wellness: Offering advice on healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and preventive care, including immunizations.

3. Inventory and Supply Management

• Ensuring adequate stock: Managing medication inventory, ensuring that medications are stored properly and remain within their expiration dates.
• Managing controlled substances: Monitoring the distribution and dispensation of controlled drugs to prevent misuse or abuse.

4. Regulatory Compliance

• Adhering to laws and regulations: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding the dispensation and handling of medications.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality: Ensuring all patient information is kept secure and handled according to privacy laws like HIPAA.

5. Immunization Services
