1. Background
- Microfinance Industry Network (MFIN) is the primary representative body and the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) for NBFC-MFIs (Non-Banking Finance Companies Microfinance Institutions) regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). MFIN Members are RBI Regulated Entities (REs) comprising NBFC-MFIs, Banks, Small Finance Banks and NBFCs. At present MFIN has 78-member REs. The core areas of work for MFIN are Self-Regulation, Advocacy & Development and State Initiatives. MFIN works with the broader financial inclusion ecosystem to ensure that its members and the microfinance industry can optimize their potential to achieve the financial inclusion agenda. 2. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with Vertical Head (Self-Regulation & Compliance). This would require involvement in:
- Monitor field operations and identify best practices as well as risk factors and EWS
- Collecting and analyzing data from MFIN members related to adherence to regulations and guidelines.
- Conducting evaluations of member REs on Industry CoC and RBI Regulations
- Analysis of CIC reporting and data analysis
- Collaborating to create appropriate content and dissemination through reports/ research documents/ presentations/ audio-visuals.
- Participating in time bound projects including project planning, execution, monitoring of activities, coordinating with project partners etc.
- Capacity building through webinars, workshops, training programs and relevant content creation.
- Undertaking visits to existing MFIN Members for knowledge dissemination, promoting/explaining various MFIN initiatives, fact finding, evaluation, capacity building, etc.
- Stay up to date on the latest developments in the financial inclusion space and microfinance including regulatory and policy changes, innovations and best practices.
- Any other work that is deemed necessary from time-to-time.
3. Required Qualification and Competencies
Essential:
Core:
1. A commitment to MFIN's core values of integrity, respect, teamwork and innovation.
2. Sensitivity towards gender, ethnic and cultural identities
Qualification, Work Experience & Knowledge:
1. Master's in management, development studies, economics, public policy (or any relevant discipline) with a sound academic track record.
2. Three to five years of relevant professional experience in a financial services organization or an industry body/policy think-tank.
3. Understanding of financial services/financial inclusion space.
4. Experience of engaging with corporate sector, development sector institutions & policy makers is desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Interpersonal skills; Ability to work in teams
2. Data handling and analysis
3. Report drafting and analytical skills
4. Fluency with written and spoken English
5. Experience with Word, Excel and Powerpoint
6. Willingness and ability to travel
