Role & responsibilities

Administration of PostgreSQL and Snowflake databases throughout the development and production of lifecycles in an Azure environment.

Design and develop logical and physical database designs from customer requirements.

Collaborate and provide best practice guidance to the development team.

Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.

Support the standards, policies and procedures of the DBA team.

Understand monitoring and alerting databases.

Collaborate with other DBAs and Infrastructure team members to develop automation scripts for managing databases and data in various environments.

Create automated pipelines for Database deployments.

Performance tuning.

Knowledge and implementation of RBAC.

Preferred candidate profile

8 to 12 years of experience in database administration.

Proven experience in administering PostgreSQL databases.

Strong knowledge of database architecture design and performance optimization.

Experience in developing backup and recovery plans and managing database security.

Proficiency in fine-tuning SQL queries and implementing high availability and replication solutions.

Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools, as well as automation and scripting.

The DBA needs to have worked in Azure on Postgres.

Postgres versions should be recent.

Needs to have worked on automating database deployments /CICD.

Understands the product they work on.

Clear communication skills.
