Key skills for the job
1. Vehicle Maintenance:
Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fleet vehicles.
Ensure that all vehicles are in optimal operating condition and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
2. Emergency Response:
Coordinate emergency repairs and provide support during vehicle breakdowns.
Implement contingency plans to minimize disruption to operations.
3. Vendor Management:
Monitor and assess the performance of vehicles to determine when maintenance is needed.
Liaise with external service providers, mechanics, and parts suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors for fleet maintenance services.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, service history, and costs.
Prepare reports on fleet status, maintenance schedules, and expenses for management review.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Familiarity with fleet management software is a plus.
Strong understanding of safety and regulatory compliance in vehicle maintenance.
