Senior Accounts Officer - Mumbai - Nariman Point

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Officer Accounts to join our finance team. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting functions, including General Ledger (GL) scrutiny, GST and TDS compliance, advance tax calculation, finalization of accounts, investment entries, and responses to IT and GST notices. The role requires proficiency in Tally ERP and close coordination with internal and statutory auditors to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• GL Scrutiny:
• Regularly review and analyze the General Ledger accounts.
• Ensure proper classification of transactions and accurate recording of entries.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in the GL accounts.
• GST & TDS Compliances:
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) and TDS returns.
• Reconcile GST and TDS liabilities with payments and returns.
• Liaise with external authorities regarding any queries related to GST and TDS.
• Advance Tax Calculation:
• Prepare advance tax calculations on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure timely deposit of advance taxes in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Finalisation of Accounts:
• Assist in the finalization of annual financial statements.
• Ensure proper accounting of all transactions for year-end closing.
• Prepare schedules for audits and other compliance requirements.
• Investment Entries:
• Record investment transactions and ensure proper classification of financial instruments.
• Ensure accurate reporting of income/returns on investments as per applicable accounting standards.
• Response to IT & GST Notices:
• Handle income tax and GST notices, providing responses and coordinating with authorities for resolution.
• Assist in audits by tax authorities and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support to Internal & Stat Auditors:
• Provide required documents and schedules for internal and statutory audits.
• Address queries from auditors and ensure timely resolution of any audit observations.
• Tally ERP Knowledge:
• Maintain and update accounting records in Tally ERP.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness in Tally system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies in Tally ERP.

Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
• Professional qualifications such as CA Inter, ICWA Inter, or equivalent will be preferred.
• Experience:
• Experience in accounting and finance roles, specifically in GL scrutiny, GST & TDS compliance, and finalization of accounts.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Tally ERP and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other direct and indirect taxation norms.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and auditing standards.
