Role & responsibilities

• Meeting with patients to diagnose injuries
• Deciding whether an issue requires surgery and, if not, recommending nonsurgical treatment
• Recommending and interpreting diagnostic imaging, such as radiographs, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
• Performing surgeries such as bone grafting and internal fixation with screws and plates to stabilize fractures
• Consulting and working with radiologists, anesthesiologists, physical therapists and other medical experts
• Performing follow-up exams on patients post-surgery
