Roles and Responsibilities

Quality Management:

• Oversee and ensure adherence to all quality standards in wood furniture manufacturing, from raw material selection to finished product.
• - Identify and resolve process defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• - Monitor shop floor activities and quality checks at every production stage.

Team Leadership:

• - Lead and manage a team of Assistant Managers and 8-10 QA Engineers.
• - Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure the team meets performance
• expectations.

Wood Industry Expertise:

• - Manage all aspects of wood materials and processing, including chemical treatment, seasoning, machining, fabrication, and finishing.
• - Ensure compliance with established standards for wood process defects and corrective measures.

Compliance and Certification:

• - Maintain and improve compliance with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) standards.
• -Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Customer Interaction:

• - Handle quality-related requirements and expectations of export-oriented buyers from the US and Europe.
• - Address and resolve customer quality concerns and ensure compliance with their standards.

Continuous Improvement:

• - Drive initiatives for process improvements and quality enhancements to achieve operational excellence.
• - Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain high-quality standards.

Qualification Requirements:

Educational Background:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.Tech) or a graduate from the Forest Research Institute (FRI).
• Experience:
• 14-15 years of working experience in a large wood furniture manufacturing industry employing 400-500 personnel.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Technical Knowledge:

• - Extensive understanding of various wood materials and their properties.
• - Proficiency in wood processing techniques: chemical treatment, seasoning, machining, fabrication, and finishing.
• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Process Optimization:

• Analyze the existing production process, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement strategies for yield, energy efficiency, and cost control.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that manufacturing processes are aligned with industry standards and safety regulations.

Compliance Expertise:

• - Comprehensive knowledge of FSC and PEFC certifications.
• - Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.

Leadership Skills:

• - Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• - Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Customer Handling:

• - Hands-on experience dealing with export buyers from the US and Europe.
• - Ability to meet and exceed customer quality expectations and compliance requirements.
