Job Description
The Billing Controller will champion Maropost s revenue cycle operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all billing processes. This role involves managing accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations of applicable accounts, as well as overseeing deferred and accrued revenue. The successful candidate will bring excellent analytical skills, a proven ability to collaborate across teams, and outstanding attention to detail.
What You'll be Responsible for:
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle, including billing operations, accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations.
- Manage and improve the billing process to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Oversee accounts receivable and collections processes, ensuring that cash flow targets are met.
- Reconcile applicable accounts, including revenue-related accounts, deferred revenue, and accrued revenue.
- Develop and maintain billing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory mandates.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and operations, to ensure accurate invoicing and smooth revenue cycle operations.
- Handle complex customer escalations and inquiries related to billing.
- Prepare, update, and present revenue and billing reports to senior leadership.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing and revenue operations.
What Youll need to bring to Maropost:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience overseeing the billing process in a SaaS environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and accrual accounting.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to billing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (Experience in Stripe and NetSuite would be advantageous).
- Proficiency in CRM Software (Experience in Salesforce and HubSpot would be advantageous).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
