Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department
- Ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels to prevent shortages and expired medications
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Providing guidance and support to pharmacy staff, including training and mentoring
- Compounding and preparing medications as needed
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to pharmacy operations
- Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the pharmacy department
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and medication management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution
- State pharmacist licensure and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of pharmacy automation systems and technology
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and standards
