Role & responsibilities

Strategic Leadership in IT Audit:

Develop and implement the IT internal audit strategy in alignment with the organization's goals and risk appetite.

Identify and assess IT-related risks, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and emerging technologies.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on IT governance and risk management.

Audit Planning and Execution:

Design and execute a risk-based IT audit plan covering infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data governance, and IT operations.

Evaluate IT control frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, and ITIL.

Perform audits of IT projects, systems development, and third-party service providers.

Ensure audits are conducted efficiently, with clear and actionable findings.

Cybersecurity and Data Protection:

Assess the effectiveness of the organizations cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.

Evaluate data privacy practices to ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.

Provide recommendations to strengthen data security and mitigate risks related to data breaches.

Reporting and Communication:

Present IT audit findings and recommendations to senior management, the board, and the audit committee.

Prepare clear, concise, and detailed reports highlighting risks, impacts, and corrective actions.

Monitor and follow up on the implementation of IT audit recommendations.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

Recruit, train, and lead a team of IT auditors with diverse technical expertise.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Work closely with other departments, including IT, finance, and compliance, to ensure alignment of objectives.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

Ensure IT systems comply with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.

Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.

Stay updated on the latest IT audit tools, technologies, and regulatory changes.

Continuous Improvement:

Leverage data analytics and automation tools to enhance the efficiency of IT audit processes.

Identify opportunities to optimize IT systems and reduce costs while maintaining compliance and security.

Promote the adoption of best practices in IT risk management and governance.
