Job Description
1. Hands on development of Cylinder Block and Head castingand Machining development.
2. Essential Experience in cast iron Cylinder Block andHead casting and machining development.
3. Proto / Rapidtype development of Parts as per drawing,
4. Part Pricing /Cost estimation, Tooling cost estimation, Contractual Relationships, Lead Time,Inventory Levels etc.
5. In-depth Knowledge of development of Cylinder Blockand Head Casting development Like Core requirements, Weight optimization ,Gating etc..
6. Should be able to estimate the tooling / pattern costof Block and Head.
7. Will be desirable to have exposure to Shell moldcasting process and Foam Moulding process.
8. Induvial should be able to resolve all quality issuesrelated to casting and machining of cylinders blocks and Heads.
9. Should have Knowledge on supplier base of Cylinderblock and head India and Globe.
10. Ensure internal coordination / communication withcross functional teams from Quality, R&D, Production, Marketing, Financeand Manufacturing Engineering functions to ensure effective planning anddevelopment.
11. Responsible for the following activities for therespective category of Part development.
a. Vendor identification
b. Vendor qualification assessment and short-listing
c. Release of Request for Quotation/ Enquiry
d. Receipt of offers from vendors and Preparation ofcomprehensive comparative statements.
e. Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies for keyspend areas.
f. Monitor the process of Commercial Negotiation Meetingsand finalization of the most optimal price with the vendors.
g. Ensure obtaining of commercial concurrence.
h. Ensure set-up of Agreements with the finalizedvendors, and timely release of Purchase Order, Sample approval and PPAPApproval.
i. Closer of sample approval and PPAP open points.
12. Follow up with supplier to develop the parts as per definedlead time.
13. Continuously evaluate vendor capacity, performance& take initiative for continuous improvement.
14. Focus on cost reduction project Ensureimplementation of VAVE and Alternate part development parts into regularproduction.
15. Coordinate with internal/external auditors to resolvequeries and review post audit observations; identify and monitor improvementinitiatives.
16. Attend meeting and ensure Daily Work Management.
17. Closure of supplierpending payment, tooling payment and Job work challan.
18. Packaging signs off and improvements.
19. Implementation of Engineering Change Notes.
