The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all
plant equipment, machinery, to ensure smooth and efficient production. This role involves planning
and coordinating maintenance schedules, managing a team of technicians, troubleshooting
equipment issues, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all plant equipment,
including oil processing machinery, boilers, pumps, compressors, and electrical
systems.
• Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure
production targets are met.
• Coordinate scheduled shutdowns for major maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate timely repairs or replacements.
• Lead and manage the maintenance team, including mechanical and electrical
technicians, fitters, and other support staff.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the
maintenance team.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure that maintenance activities are
carried out safely and efficiently.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment breakdowns and
extend the life of machinery.
• Use predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis and thermal
imaging to identify potential problems before they lead to failures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders,
inspections, and equipment histories.
• Ensure that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company
policies.
• Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team and ensure proper use of
personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure availability
when needed.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock outs or excess inventory.
• Track maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without
compromising quality.
• Ensure efficient use of resources to control maintenance expenses.
• Work closely with the production team to optimize equipment performance.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs, upgrades, or installations.
• Manage contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably within the
edible oil industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance techniques for equipment used in oil processing, such as
pumps, compressors, boilers, conveyors, and storage tanks.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
