Job Description

End-to-end procurement of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Services, within parameters of targeted cost, quality, safety and time, as directed by Contract Lead and in conjunction with Design, Supply Procurement, Construction & Legal for Wind power projects.
The ideal candidate has strong practical and application experience in contract management in Wind Energy sector, knowledge and understanding of contracts and legal terms, solid business ethics, coupled with a strong commercial orientation and communication skills.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Tender document / RFQ for Civil, Electrical & Mechanical work packages majority into Pile foundation, Wind Turbine Foundation, Turbine Erection, Crane packages, Earthwork, Roads, Drains, Control Rooms along with experience into ITC of Electrical works, Transmission Line, MCR, Switchyard & Substations Electrical & Civil works installations.
  • Detailing of scope including BOQ, T&C, methodology.
  • Preparation of Contract Strategy
  • Strong Contractor Network / Vendor Database
  • Identifications/Evaluations of contractor in conjunction with projects, quality & safety team.
  • Expertise in rate analysis & Price Negotiations considering local material and machinery rates, productivity analysis. Conduct market rates benchmarking.
  • Contractual terms & conditions covering scope clarity, method, specification, compliance, legal, delivery, safety, quality, sustainability, Anti bribery clauses and general conditions of contract.
  • Conduct Techno commercial comparison & prepare WO/PO in SAP.
  • Capable to work in process-oriented environment with high level of integrity.
  • Budget vs actual tracking of order values and contractor progress monitoring.
  • Risk identifications & mitigations.
  • Manage resources as & when required as per project requirements, ability to handle post contract award issues.
  • Timely closure of contracts to meet the project timelines.
  • Contract administrations, arbitration, claim & dispute settlement. Generate and Maintain records for applying for Extension of Time and the ability to justify/defend the same.
  • Maintain contract completion timelines and prepare Contract Time extensions and amendments with reasonable justifications.
  • Support to Proposal on commercials & Project Team on project resource requirements.
  • Keep a regular watch on possible claims. Identifying, informing, quantifying, generating records for the same and ensure their fructification.
  • Experience/Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain Audit documents.
  • Maintain contractor performance reports & ratings.
Experience
  • A seasoned Mechanical Engineer with a BE/B.Tech degree and +12 years of expertise in the Wind energy sector. Proficient in managing Civil/Elec/Mech packages and knowledge/experience in handling Electrical, Inverter, transformer, HT and LT panel installation work, Earthing works, SCADA works and electrical testing & commissioning. Experience of service procurement for atleast 1GWp+ of projects.
Education Qualification / Additional Certifications
  • BE/B Tech from renowned university in Mechanical Engineering Discipline.
  • FIDIC certifications would be added advantage.
  • Preferably Contract & Procurement Management Certifications (CPCM)
  • Preferred Six Sigma certified
Skills & Competencies
  • Self-starter and team builder.
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills, Negotiation skills.
  • Commercial acumen and hands on experience of managing multiple construction contracts preferably for Wind Projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of contracting principles, contracting structures, contract obligations and contract administration
  • Ability to adapt future technologies/ Digitization in procurement processes.
  • Able to manage multiple overlapping projects and manage workload.
  • Hands-on experience in SAP MM Module
  • Contractor Management & Resource Management.
  • Site management / execution skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a high performing team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Provide cost effective inputs to proposal, design, and construction team.
Location: Mumbai with travel across site locations
