Desired skills

Relevant experience in in steel and steel product procurement, typically 3 to 5+ years in the related field.
A bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering from reputed institute.
Professional certifications such as the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from reputed
Institute or a degree in supply chain management, logistics, business
administration can be advantageous.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
Proficient in using procurement software and tools including SAP.
Deep understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
Capability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving operational efficiency.

Job description

Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge in welding, roll-forming, stamping,
laser cutting, bending, automatic, and robotic processes.
Market Research: Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers.
Procurement: Oversee the entire procurement process, including quality
control.
Negotiations: Negotiate terms and collaborate with the legal department on contracts.
Coordination: Work with internal departments to forecast needs.
Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget and prepare cost
analyses.
Strategies: Develop cost-effective procurement strategies.
Supplier Relationships: Maintain and expand the supplier network.
Supplier Management: Ensure contract compliance and resolve issues.
Optimization: Improve spending, product quality, and delivery times.
Inventory Management: Efficiently manage inventory.
New Suppliers: Identify and evaluate new sourcing opportunities.
